Wheaton League of Women Voters

We sponsor meetings and events for the public and League members. Please join us at the Wheaton Park District Community Center at 1777 S. Blanchard Road, Wheaton unless another location is noted on the calendar. We will be conducting League business in the first 10 minutes of each meeting. In the fall of 2017 we had three events emphasizing Civic Education at Cantigny Park in Winfield.

Board meetings will be at 7:00 PM at Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL

McCormick Mansion at Cantigny Drinks & Discussion. League members, guests and members of the public are invited to Cantigny Park's McCormick House for an evening of socializing and discussion on "What you should know about the issues facing Illinois before you cast your ballot."

A cash bar will be available. Registration is required and will open soon; parking and program are free.

Candidate Meet and Greet. This event will be set up in a "Candidate Job Fair" style, where each invited candidate will have a table, and guests are able to approach each candidate at their own pace or interest. This style of meet and greet offers the chance to speak to candidates one-on-one, ask specific questions, or share thoughts, and get involved in a candidate's campaign if desired.

  • County chairman, sheriff, clerk, treasurer, board members for districts 4 & 6
  • Forest preserve president & board member for District 6
  • State Reps: 41st, 42nd, 46th, 48th, 49th
  • State Senate: 21st, 23rd, 24th

  • Gubernatorial candidates

No registration is required, and the event is free to attend. Guests should park in the parking garage and use the pedestrian bridge on the top deck to enter the building and access the auditorium.

Chicago Women's March Chicago 2018: March to the Polls. On January 20, 2018 women and allies will come together in downtown Chicago to celebrate the spirit of the 2017 Women's March and unite to focus on the 2018 elections and beyond.

As Bonnie Cox, President LWVIL, states in the November 2017 LWVIL newsletter, "What an opportunity to promote the LWV and our commitment to democracy and voter service!" The LWVIL Board is encouraging LWV members across the state to participate with them in this event.
